Anyone Can Write Music
THERE CAN BE TOO MANY EXPECTATIONS WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING MUSIC.
I grew up thinking the composer was pretty much God’s right hand.
And when I began to write music myself, I had to get past the fear that I was never going to be a ‘Mozart’ or a ‘Beethoven.’
No, music composition is not for only the deeply trained, or the mad genius.
ANYONE CAN WRITE MUSIC.
Music is a language that you have a natural right to learn. Practically without thinking, you create verbal sentences every day in order to express yourself.
And you can do the same with music.
Think of it this way: you don’t have to be a Shakespeare to write a poem. You don’t have to be a poetic genius to say something profound and personal.
You have a right to use music, which is a means of personal expression, as a way to play or sing or arrange something from you, from your life.
PERFECTIONISM IS ONE OF THE BARRIERS THAT KEEP PEOPLE FROM EXPRESSING THEMSELVES.
But there is nothing perfect about music in the world. It is sung, strummed, played, hit, and shouted.
Music is real, like you — like your feelings, and your life. And it is there for you to say something with it.
Craft Music is currently teaching an online Music Creation Course as well online and in-home instrument instruction worldwide.
