About Chris

Chris Rolontz is a professional musician and a rare southern California native. A graduate of USC’s Thornton School of Music where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies, Chris has spent the last seventeen years as a working bass player, singer and guitarist in Los Angeles. A bit of a musical chameleon, Chris has played everything from jazz to hip hop, rock to classical, bluegrass and anything in between. While at USC, Chris studied with Darek “Oles” Oleszkiewicz, a former student of the late bass legend Charlie Haden. Some of his performance highlights include a stint opening for the Violent Femmes in 2016 in the band “happiness,” playing bass/providing backing vocals for the # 1 pop star from Zimbabwe, Alexio Kawara, and recording for several episodes of the hit Netflix show Chef’s Table.
